Hi everyone! Today I will talk to you about a movie, "Life is Beautiful", a 1997 Italian comedy-drama film directed by and starring Roberto Benigni.
In
1939, Guido, a funny and charismatic Jewish man, comes into Italy looking for work. He
starts working as a waiter at a hotel restaurant, under the watchful eye of his uncle
Eliseo.
Guido
meets a school teacher named Dora, who he calls “Princess”, and falls in love with her. However, she is already in a
relationship with another man. Dora breaks up with her fiancé to choose Guido.
Then they get married and have a son, Giosué.
On
Giosué's fifth birthday, World War II is in full force. Since they are Jewish,
the Germans take away Guido, Eliseo and Giosué to a labor camp. Wanting to be
with her family, Dora insists she be taken too, but she is housed in the
women's side of the camp. In an attempt to hold his
family together and help his son survive the horrors of a Jewish Concentration
Camp, Guido hides their true situation from him, convincing him that the
camp is a complicated game in which Giosue must perform the tasks Guido
gives him, earning him points; the first team to reach one thousand
points will win a tank.
I
recommend you this film. I've already seen it twice and I loved
it. This is a great movie with
an incredible and strong story.

Dear student
I've seen the film and it is very touching and moving. Wht a father does for his son...in contrast with the extreme violence and stupidity of all the situation. Unfortunately, it was not so long ago and we need to be careful with some political situations.
