Royal wedding |
Despite considerable family pressure and unrelenting media attention on the young couple – which nearly drove them apart – in the end, true love conquers all and the couple marries in a fairy-tale wedding.
What do you think about this event?

I think that this event (made in a public way) is very sad because, besides the existence of a monarchy in the 21st century in a developed country that has some colonies and ex colonies that have to pay a quote, they made a public wedding and spent taxpayers’ money to secure their safety. That is ridiculous.
Even more ridiculous is giving a holiday just because they are going to marry. This shows how they like to be the center of the attentions.
Another thing I cannot understand is the people’s interest in the wedding. Yes, if people ignore this kind of attitudes from the ones that should give the example, they would do a simple wedding and not annoy people with that.
What is our interest in that? Don’t we all have a life? Put big screens in London streets and even a lot of TV channels showing the wedding? Isn’t it too much? No… and why? Because the majority of people liked to watch it. -.-

Dear Diogo
I knew I should have given you a better mark, 18 perhaps, but now I have no doubt. In spite of some minor mistakes I love your sense of criticism and your sense of humor, but above all the way you express yourself in English. I think the blog was a very good idea. What's your opinion by the way?
Don't forget that the wedding is also a kind of marketing and a way to call people's attention to visit the country. Besides, the British love everything that is tradition.
Thanks a million for the post
Thanks, it is very rewarding when we see our "work" or in this case, our opinion receiving a good feedback.
I've to think in the anwser to this new question and make a decent comment or post to anwser it.
